Pukekawa farming couple Harvey Crewe and Jeannette Crewe were shot to death in their home on or about 17 June 1970. The murders led to the wrongful conviction and subsequent pardoning of Arthur Allan Thomas who had been twice convicted of their murder in two separate trials.
