I also wrote to Winston Peters, thanking him for having opposed foreign takeover in the past and asking him to oppose the bill. I sent it to my local mp, Grant McCallum, as well and got a very strange response. I think if they allow this through at the second reading then another hikoi is called for. This cannot be allowed to continue.
I got mine in on King's Birthday, and have been encouraging groups I'm in to put submissions in, even if just a very simple one saying they oppose the RSB and recommending that it be abandoned, plus posting the link for submissions.
Done, and a copy sent to local Nat mp - who has not replied. But I am still encountering people who haven't heard of this bill - unbelievable! Somehow, we need to address the apathy towards anything political.
