Awesome interview thank you Bryan. What an articulate and extremely knowledgeable young person Grace is. She gives me hope that our children have not just blindly accepted neoliberalism as the only way. That has always been a concern for me, because like you, I have lived and worked in a society pre neoliberalism and know that social democracy was a much better Aotearoa in every respect.
Well I did feel my age when I saw grace lol, more importantly I felt vindicated as too my thinking , I find my self second guessing my self in todays politics utterly baffled as too how this coalition has the support it has? Wondering if maybe I’m not viewing the world around me correctly , grace and your self give me clarity and hope and reafirms yes they are vultures. On another note I recommend espinars interview with james Shaw u tube.
I think this is a fantastic vid blog Bryan. So refreshing to hear an articulate educated and well informed individual calling out them illegitimacy of the failed Capitalist system. He threads of thought and connections with historical examples are clearly required reading for all would be left politicians and people across the motu. Well done sir for sharing these insights.
Wonderful interview Bryan, I’ve admired Grace since I’ve seen her utilise TikTok so well in providing short clips to explain different parts of capitalism - useful for millenial me as well as all generations I feel.
Thank you also for acknowledging (and I would encourage you to use this word too) Te Tiriti and its role in slowing down so many of these processes that could overrun us if we let it. I hope Grace might look into it more for her next book!
