The Big Kahuna Gobbymouth Jones (aka Pornboy Shane) needs some serious reigning in ... has so since the commencement of this current CoC ...

So, so willing to sell his and the Nations heart and soul out to his Electoral Lobbyers and Foreign Companies, without an ounce of conscience or regret, let alone thought.

His Ego's power-tripping this round is absolutely staggering, if not sickening.

Will he live be able to explain to his mokopuna and great mokopuna the mess he will leave them to clean up? ... the Inheritance he will leave them?

Any of the CoC for that matter .....

This is appalling. We need an ecocide law asap. Can we get Client Earth in on this? Lawyers for Climate Action? What about the residents of Whangamata? They must be furious about this!

Superb Bryan. An adjunct to this North Project is the creation of another open pit by removing Gladstone hill roughly a distance of 6 Kim’s from the heart of Waihi and the other pit. I have asked the Fast Track Committee where we go now with complaints about noise etc. we the people of this town have no input what-so-ever. So much for a Gold Mine Co. stating they will bring the community with them, they speak with fork tongue, they have totally lost any community license to operate here. Our, the people’s, submissions to the application which the company made to extend the Martha mining zone resulted in a minor win in that a large reduction of the properties they wanted to excavate in the heart of the town were denied. Alas, I still fear Waihi is doomed as the company stealthily churns up the ground and adds it to that hell hole in the town. Thank you for caring as always.

This is awful Bryan!

It is wonderful that you are able to bring this info to us in such a compelling way that really showcases the beauty we will lose. 🙏❤️

Its difficult to comprehend that an individual, let alone an entire govt. can be so blinded by greed that they can potentially destroy an entire area's water system. This is completely, utterly wrong.

"...a lose -lose, neoliberal, blind greed driven situation."

Exactly. Well said Bryan.

Why would any sane thinking human being make the public responsible for paying a multi nationals bill for loss of profit because it didn’t do its homework well and had to be stopped. I guess Seymour and Jones are not sane thinking humans.

Meanwhile many parts of Africa Latin America and Asia are coming out of years of this oppression while

NACT are signing NZ up for it!!

🤦‍♀️

Thank you so much for this video Bryan. By fast-tracking this scheme this government is just riding rough-shod all over the people that live in the area, with no consultation or consideration for their very real concerns about this gold-mining venture. In fact it's an affront to all the people of Aotearoa and to democracy.

Thank you for sharing - this is just devastating! A few questions (because I just don't know enough, and I'm hoping someone here does).

As I understand it, whoever owns the land owns it all the way to the earth's core (well, here in NZ). First up, is this correct?

Secondly, who owns this land? If it is "the government", then does that mean that it is actually all the taxpayers?

In short, IMO the fast-track bill was always going to be a recipe for disaster.

And yes, it's all about extraction. Short-term thinking.

Another question I have: This Canadian Mining Company, I'm assuming that this means that the profits will cheerfully fly offshore? So, no real wealth generation for NZ then, maybe some jobs.

And what is this company's track record with respect to the environment and the impacts that they actually have (I'm sure they're telling a great story about how they won't damage the environment)?

What about the impact on the aquifer?

This company does have a track record in Aotearoa, Carolyn...they pit-mined the Globe Hill/ Progress Junction area just West of Reefton, on the plateau that starts just above the town and runs west towards Greymouth on the Coast...they started digging about 2020, and are now finished, and are now doing restoration planting of native trees, controlling pests in the area around the huge pit, etc...plan is to turn the huge pit into a recreational park/lake area...

Thanks for this info. That’s super interesting. I’ll go check that out. I wonder how much positive and ongoing positive impact this has on the people in the area, and what the long term impacts to the environment will be.

There really is something drastically wrong with our species, that we can even contemplate doing such a thing, all in the name of greed. As far as I'm aware, you cannot eat money. I'm fairly sure though, that its entiely possible to die of starvation while surrounded by enormous piles of money.

This govt is blinded by greed, & clearly ready to destroy vast areas, & perhaps our entire country in order to become wealthy. They are effectively, leeches.

There's a remedy for leeches, & for the human variety of leech we have elections.

The chance to do the right thing & make these evil creatures a one term govt can't come fast enough.
