Great to publicise. the May 1 ralliés supporting doctors. The one at North Shore is from 2.45 to 3.45 so times may vary elsewhere also.

What Brown is committing to is a bloody outrage! Giving public money to private health providers to 'clear' a backlog is a sticking plaster solution that will do nothing to address either the shortage of health workers or the construction of a robust and properly financed public health system.

As a registered nurse for over 30 years I have never worked under a health secretary who was less qualified, trustworthy or empathetic as Simeon Brown.

I really fear that unless there's a change of government soon that the whole SERVICE is doomed to fail and resurrected as a user pays scheme not unlike the failed US system.

You do have to wonder about the kind of person who is willing to allow people to suffer, sometimes extreme pain, because they're unable to pay ridiculous prices for medical care, & their merciless & idiotic politicians have set up a privatised health system so that some can beceome wealthy - or wealthier of course. Because that is what it is, regardless of their fine words - allowing poor people to suffer because it has been made impossible for them to access proper medical care.
