Very refreshing to see an intelligent community minded , serious life-experienced candidate coming forward. Especially as CGT tax and GP visits are basic non-neoliberal policies finally returning. Both Labour and Greens, perhaps with others, need each other.
Both the Greens and NZ Labour are appearing to finally show some more constructive alliance, since Waitangi Day faces this year.
The tail should not wag the dog with smaller, opportunistic or savage parties. We have seen the damage of the last two plus years.
Northland has huge potential as has the whole country. As someone who has worked in the public health system ; I really am saddened of the damaging changes in NZ health, and homelessness pressures etc, to privatise and ‘Amercanise’ further our great publicly taxed health system . From Ruthanasia , to Key to a CEO mentality of the current PM.
Enough of voting suppression, that is not fair, kind or us.
Can we learn from the UK and the US, the landlordism, history, the Atlas network or some similar corporate default with National, Act or NZF. We need to wake up from the last two years ! No one voted for this reactive polarisation, the fakeness , the meanness like other many countries have, don't import that stuff or correctly label it , Gene Tech’ Bill and our farmers or growers included.
Rise up well and rebuild together, learn from disappointing human mistakes !
Jobs , affordable homes, health care, mana or care for all. We can be more independent and self sufficient , even as other countries are going through similar issues. Don’t support external or internal war mongering and tech data centres that use too much water, land, farms or electricity.

He makes good sense but while I agree with what he says, I just can’t vote for Labour again. They have in the past, shown themselves to be untrustworthy. Labour was once known as the working people’s party, & then in the 1980’s they turned on the working people who’d always supported them. They created havoc, which was continued by every subsequent govt until now. So once again, I’ll be voting Green.
Bit this was driven by one individual- Roger Douglas, whose policy National then went on to keep and extend. Not a Labour policy, and the PM at the time, David Lange, went on to resign after. Watch the doco “ in a land of plenty”

I've seen that. But that was the 80's & Labour has yet to either remove themselves from Neo Liberalism, or apologise for imposing it.
